Flash Delirium: a new song by MGMT for you to download

When you go the MGMT website to download their new song, Flash Delirium, take a moment to gaze at all of the doodled band logos circulating on top of the page. There are some really cool ones. I think my favorite is the sunglasses. There's one where the letters are melting into a puddle that is pretty cool to. Just remember to not forget the free song. It's great.

Get some cool coin if you pay for MGMT's new album

In the 21st century digital world, where the most popular form of buying music is illegally downloading it for free, MGMT is providing an incentive to purchase their new compact disc in a 'pre-sale'. Pre-sale opportunties are interesting to record labels because file-sharing sites and teenagers laptops aren't filled with the new mp3s.

Congratulations pre-sale purchases come with a bonus, really cool, collectable coin and 32-page booklet. And the cover is interactive in the form of scratch-off technology.

I feel like back in the '90s record labels would charge you at least 20% - 100% more for collectable items like this. But now when competing with consumers who will rob them blind, the price remains at the affordable $13.00. Here is a demonstration video they made:

Hear Plastic Beach by the Gorillaz now

Hear Plastic Beach by the Gorillaz now

Murdoc Niccals is getting all up on the internet. He's stumbled upon the many uses of this world wide web, including fanatically updating his Twitter:

"Oh, oh oh! What’s this?! I can play you my album via the internet?! I thought the internet was just for porn! Isn’t technology wonderful?"

And here is that album. Debut of Plastic Beach, by the Gorillaz.

Vampire Weekend have released a new video for their song about perseverance and hot tennis girls. Think that's what it's about.

"Something happened out in California"

"Something happened out in California"

Murdoc Niccals of the Gorillaz has revealed why he is stuck out on the Plastic Beach, where floating silcone implants are mistaken for jellyfish and green fog surrounds the island. In nonspecific fearful detail Murdoc claims "One of the reasons I’m out here….I…I …something. Something happened out in California…"

"I got chased through the desert. Shot at! Bullets flying everywhere!! And now I’ve seen the footage!!! It’s….IT’S HIM!!!"

We found a picture of 'HIM'. Don't like 'HIM'.

Hey be sure to check out this remix of Stylo by Death Metal Disco Scene

A day in the life of The Strokes

If you have nine minutes to kill how about spending it watching The Strokes order sushi, and record a new album. In a cameo appearance Jimi Hendrix even smokes a cigarette.

This day in the life of Fab, Albert, Nikolai and Nick doesn't incorporate the company of singer Julien, but the band still manages to record a smash single about doing crazy rock stuff like breaking things. Check it out.

Having a chat with V.V. Brown

V.V. Brown wrote a few songs on her debut album, Traveling Like The Light, about her break up with "one particular arsehole". It's hard to imagine anyone being an arsehole to the lively and lovely V.V., but it did happen and out of the ashes came her wonderful music.

We talked to V.V. about her songs, her nicknames, and causing a little trouble. Have a look.

Straight from heaven comes a 'Shark in the Water'

Recently I heard an angel sing and her name was V.V. Brown. The angel wore the prettiest little dresses, had a lovely retro hair style, and a British accent. She also happened to be on  iTunes, and featured as the free single of the week. I say go check it out, quick.

MGMT "doesn't give a fuck" during interview

Here's MGMT at the Grammys.

They were nominated for 'Best New Artist', along with Silversun Pickups and The Ting Tings, and Keri Hilson, who all came up short when the Zac Brown Band won the prize.

MGMT wrote a song called 'Siberian Breaks' about surfing in the Arctic Circle by Russia. Andrew said it first.

"I try to do it whenever I can. I'm going to Costa Rica to surf this Sunday. I love it and it's definitely a theme on 'Congratulations'. There's one song called 'Siberian Breaks', and it's about 12 minutes long. It's kind of like eight different songs strung together into one, and the general theme is about surfing in the Arctic Circle by Russia."
