"The official name with be 'Sublime with Rome'"

"The official name with be 'Sublime with Rome'"

The founding members of Sublime and their newest member, Rome, have reached an agreement with the family of the late Bradley Nowell on the future of the band. The Nowell Fam and Bud, Eric & Rome have agreed that the band will be called 'Sublime with Rome' for all recording and touring purposes. In late January Sublime With Rome posted on their Twitter that the "deal is pretty much done and agreed upon but still waiting for their signatures to make it official."

Rome has recently found radio success with his guest appearance on the Dirty Heads track Lay Me Down.

Dirty Heads ft. Rome - live.

I cranked up the radio the other day when, to my surprise, 'The Dirty Heads ft. Rome' song Lay Me Down suddenly came on. It was pretty cool since I just read a thank you letter from singer Jared saying "This is a huuuuuuuuuge thanks to everyone out there, taking time, and going out of their way to request DH at KROQ, and you're local radio stations."

The band just released some pro shot live footage of the track. Check it out.

Dirty Heads hit the Habit

One album to buy right now: The Dirty Heads 'Any Port In A Storm'

One album to buy right now: The Dirty Heads 'Any Port In A Storm'

Last night we caught Huntington Beach reggae hip-hop band The Dirty Heads in Santa Cruz. The show was a blast. Our friends in Dirty Penny and The Expendables were there holding it down for their hometown. I'm still trying to shake lingering effects of how much fun we had right now. My brain is usually the first victim of a night at the Catalyst.

So yeah anyways, DH brings it. SoCal hip-hop reggae with a vibe that almost takes me back to the early '90s Sublime-era dub rock. Different sound, similar feeling. The band
is fronted by Duddy and Jared, who trade off on vocals. All good vocalists need a hype man, right?

DH will be spending this summer on Warped Tour; If you're planning on catching the festival make sure you mark this band as one to see that day.

We can easily recommend DH's most recent album Any Port In A Storm. The cheapest I found was $7.99 at Amazon.
