Rad Reports on Rock N Roll

Billy Ray Cyrus And Steel Panther Make Sexy Time On Stage

Actually Billy Ray Cyrus killed Billy Idol's Rebel Yell. Straight murder! First degree. But Steel Panther kicks balls and they make everything super fun. Like when Satchel calls him Billy Ray Idol. Hahahaaa.

Steel Panther and Billy Ray were joined by Idol's longtime guitar player Steve Stevens.

Doesn't it look like they're performing at a wedding, in 1985???

Not Your Grandparents AC/DC

Not Your Grandparents AC/DC

I love AC/DC, but damn they stock their dressing rooms like a bunch of pontzy librarians. My Trader Joe's list is more fun. Way more fun! I guess they are on tour all year and it's probably a little draining. The Smoking Gun has snatched up one of AC/DC's tour riders. AC/DC specifically requests oxygen tanks, tea and plants. They do request five ashtrays and a 12-pack of Heineken, but the twelver must only be stocked "15 minutes after AC/DC goes on stage." For some reason I have a feeling that is a rule that came from lessons learned. Here's a some of the crap they want:

AC/DC will require 3 dressing rooms

Two (2) Live potted trees, height depending on ceiling

VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:

* 5 LARGE ASHTRAYS (GLASSS ONLY) EACH IN ALL THREE BAND DRESSING ROOMS

1 BOX OF TWINNINGS ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEA - RED BOX W/ 50 BAGS

50 PACKETS OF SUGAR

20 REAL COFFEE MUGS

1 CASE OF BOTTLED HEINEKEN (NOTE: NO BEER IN DRESSING ROOM PRIOR TO SHOW)  PLEASE STOCK BEER IN DRESSING ROOM 15 MINUTES AFTER AC/DC GOES ONSTAGE

ORGANIC CORN CHIPS, TIN OF PEANUTS, FRESH POPCORN, BOWL OF WHOLE FRUiT INCLUDING BANANAS, SELECTION OF IMPORTED CHEESE AND CRACKERS

Jeez.

You Can't Knock A Chili Pepper Down

You Can't Knock A Chili Pepper Down

By The Way, My Friends, Anthony Kiedis was almost on a Higher Ground this summer after his kidney turned into Scar Tissue and he needed a replacement; but doctors are more likely to Give It Away to non-drug addicts to Save The Population. They don't look fondly on Californication. Universally Speaking, Anthony's friends say the singer was Fighting Like A Brave after years of heroin and cocaine use damaged his organs:

"Anthony's health was pretty bleak. Organ failure was a possibility. There was talk of how to get him on a transplant list, to cover all the bases, but that opened up a whole new can of worms because people with histories of drug and alcohol abuse are less likely to receive the organs they need."

Anthony denies he needed a transplant, but not that he was in the hospital. So Suck My Kiss.

Ozzy Will Always Rule

Ozzy is absolutely fucking hilarious. Yesterday he accepted the 'Living Legends' award, presented by Slash, in London. He accepted the award, of course, in a way only Ozzy can do it.

He bit the ear off!!!

Jk - just watch the video right ------> here.

Live! Brand New Killers

The Killers just played a surprise show at London's Royal Albert Hall for way too many lucky fans. They played a few news songs off their upcoming album including Human, and this never before played track 'Neon Tiger'. I'm way stoked on it!

Can't wait to see this show at Not So Silent Night in SF. Just got my tix yesterday. Two actually, and I'm really sure who to take. (*EL)

Not really a fan of basketball but definitely a fan of Slash. Here he is playing the Star Spangled Banner last night at the Clippers game.

First Reviews Of The Killers New Album Are...

First Reviews Of The Killers New Album Are...

Good! The Killers next album, 'Day & Age', is out on Nov. 25th.

I can't wait!! Love these guys. Already got my tix to the show, yo!

MTV just reviewed
Day & Age track by track. Here's a bit of what they have to say on the album:

"the Killers have decided to jettison practically everything you've previously known about them and just make the best Duran Duran record in recent memory (or at least a pretty good David Bowie album or a decent Bryan Ferry disc)."

"Age positively sparkles with studio sheen, a record full of crisp, echoey vocals, spaced-out synth squiggles, bossa-nova drum patterns and way more saxophone than you could possibly imagine."

"If nothing else, Age is an album of unabashed excess, of neon-lit late nights, of diamonds and dance floors and endlessly bubbling champagne. It is a record for the good times, even when times aren't necessarily all that good."

I like good times!! And endlessly bubbling champagne and dance floors. So the album is exactly like my apartment! Stoked! (Duran Duran sucks by the way I hate that comparison.)

29 Countries

29 Countries

I still haven't bought it because I have no idea where Wal-Mart is, but AC/DC's new album is one the top of the charts in 29 countries. As in, almost 30. The 29 countries Black Ice is numero uno are: US, UK, Germany, Canada, France, Argentina, Japan, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, and a bunch others that I guess are too small for the news guy to include in the list.

Black Ice sold almost 800,000 albums in the US in the first week. And the album is only available at Wal-Mart for some lame reason.

I still need to buy the new Kings of Leon, AC/DC, Guns 'n' Roses, The Killers and so many others. No wonder I just illegally download everything. Jeez!
